While Children's Action Alliance does not offer direct services to families in need, there are many organizations in our communities that can help with such needs as additional income, health insurance for children, and food.
Referral to Community Organizations
Valley of the Sun United Way– provides access to health, human service, and emergency response resources.
Community Information & Referral– key source of integrated information that brings people and services together to meet vital needs in central and northern Arizona.
Community Services Unit of the Maricopa County Juvenile Court- provides answers related to child welfare and juvenile justice systems, with information related to guardianship, emancipation, dependency, and behavioral/mental health.
Teen Resources Guide - Resources in Maricopa County for teens, ranging from career planning & employment to housing, child care, education, and medical resources.
Information and Referral Tucson– key source of integrated information that brings people and services together to meet vital needs in southern Arizona.
Arizona Self Help– A free, easy, and confidential way to find out if you qualify for such benefits as food stamps, health care, or child care assistance.
Arizona Community Action Association’s People’s Information Guide– in English and Spanish – is a directory of various community resources
Arizona Foster Youth 411 - Foster Youth 411 is a website designed for youth and young adults who need resources and information to facilitate immediate survival and long-term success. On this website, we hope that you can find information and access to whatever you need including shelter, education/employment assistance, transportation, food, or even to just find ways to have fun without spending a lot of money.
Child Care
Arizona Child Care Resource and Referral- is a statewide program in Arizona that helps families find child care. CCR&R also provides training and resources for child care providers and information for the community.
DES Child Care- the Arizona Department of Economic Security helps low-income families pay a portion of the cost of child care.
Help a Child
Ways to Help a Child - This flyer provides information on becoming a foster or adoptive parent, mentor, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), volunteer for the Foster Care Review Board (FCRB), as well as information on how to financially help foster children.
Arizona Court Appointed Special Advocate Program- Become an advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are involved in the juvenile courts.
Arizona Child and Family Advocacy Network- The Arizona Child and Family Network (ACFAN) supports the establishment, sustainability and improvement of advocacy centers that serve victims of child abuse, sexual and family violence.
