Last Leg Action for Kids

In the wee hours of this morning, the legislature adjourned “sine die” signaling the end of this legislative session. It has been a wild ride! Thank you for your involvement, your attention, your questions and cheers that helped keep children in the spotlight for legislative action.

In addition to the intense work on the state budget and Medicaid at the capitol this week, the legislature passed a number of bills in their final hours that affect children and families. Click here for a brief description of these bills that are now on their way to Governor Brewer for her signature or veto.

We’ll be in touch in the coming weeks with thank you messages to legislators, a more complete description of what passed and what didn’t, and our legislative scorecard, Who’s for Kids and Who’s Just Kidding.
