The Zombie Bill

The only significant setback we witnessed this week in the legislature came in the Committee on Federalism and Fiscal Responsibility. The bill that won’t die, TABOR, surfaced in this committee this year. Despite the evidence that statewide population is the wrong yardstick to use for the state budget, including testimony from our own Director of Budget and Research, Karen McLaughlin, it received enough votes in this committee to move onto the next step. Stay tuned for future emails where we call on you to help us put this dangerous bill to rest.
