We’ve Got a Budget that Helps Families!
The special session called to pass next year’s budget and Medicaid restoration ended earlier this afternoon and the regular session is in its final hours as well. Medicaid coverage has been restored for adults without children and will be fully paid for with a hospital assessment and federal funds.
A bipartisan majority of state lawmakers gave attention to critical issues for Arizona’s children and families this legislative session. The budget includes new staff and resources to protect abused and neglected children, funding for child care assistance, and modest stipends for grandparents who are raising their grandkids. One of the basic funding formulas for public schools has been fully funded for the first time in several years.
You can see highlights of the state budget changes here. We’ll be in touch tomorrow with a summary of legislation that passed.
